I originally wanted to get the NI-S300TR but saw just below the image that there was another newer version called the Panasonic NI-E300TR U-Shape Steam Iron. So I clicked on the newer version and liked the features. Then right next to the image was a selection of colors. Not being a fan of lime green, I selected the blue color instead. I had no idea that the different colors meant completely different features. Had I scrolled down to the bottom of the page, I would have seen that color selection was tied to what features came with the iron. Each color had different features - which was not indicated when it indicated that I could select the color iron that I wanted. When my blue iron arrived with the instruction booklet, it was then that I learned that my iron had fewer features than the other two color selections of lime-green and violet (with violet having the most features). According to the manual that came with my iron - the manual was for the NI-E650TR and also covered the features for the E300TR and E200T. The blue version does not have a retractable cord, no self-cleaning feature, no vertical steam, no automatic shut-off, no stay-clean vents and no "jet of steam" feature. So PLEASE BE AWARE when selecting your color choice. It isn't so much the color that you are selecting as it is a completely different model with different features. That should have been made more clear. I paid $1 more and have none of the features that I thought I was getting. If I would have saved that dollar, I could have had a lot more features. Go figure. Buyer Beware.

Uniquely Designed Soleplate

Another thoughtful detail includes the adjustable-steam and spray-mist features. The spray-mist option delivers an extra burst of moisture with a push of the button--great for removing stubborn wrinkles. Both options are easily accessible on the top of the curved handle.

Adjustable Temperature

With a simple turn of the dial, the iron quickly heats to the temperature desired--and keeps it there. The temperature ranges from 176 to 392 degrees F, but the five, clearly labeled fabric settings on the dial make it easy to choose the amount of heat needed for the job. A handy indicator light will illuminate once the desired temperature has been reached.

This will be a short and sweet review. As a guy I hate ironing, but find it necessary to keep the work shirts and pants looking good. This iron heats up very quickly, glides easily and has an incredible shot of steam that would please Tim Allen, "Argh, argh, argh". My sisters $120+ Rowenta has nothing on this baby.

This is a big iron in a little package!!!! It irons very well. I was able to iron a cotton blend shirt with this baby (and even had to be careful I didn't burn it) because this iron packs a good punch. It might leak a little bit but this happens with any regular size iron and of course it packs well because its very compact. Love it.

Bought this iron to use on trip to France staying in hotels without irons in room or where I did not want to use laundry facility. Strange as it seems I iron every day - pants, lab coat kid's clothes which my wife finds funny as she never irons. I tend to be a perfectionist so like to iron my own stuff.

I have owned four travel irons over the years but this is the first that did not spit - not once - or leave wet spots on clothes that take forever to get out. In fact it performed as well as my full-size Rowenta iron. I did follow the instructions about filling with water but I don't know if this made the difference. I am truly impressed with this product.

When I needed to pack one day I found I could use cold water to cool the plate down if careful attention was paid anfd the handle part was not too hot to pack. I know this is probably not recommended but I have done it before

If i had a niggle, maybe half-a-star, it would be the "extra steam" function is a little awkward owing to the price of the iron I'd guess. The buttons work and deliver the extra steam useful for ironing cotton shirts etc but are a little stiff in use. Not too bad but just not great,

A dedicated bag would be nice too but it is not a deal breaker.

I have owned the GE filtration system for over 5 years now and replace the filters about every 6 months. I had not previously been able to locate these filters for less than 35 dollars anywhere. Additionally, there were only a few retailers that carried this model filter in stock with regularity. Amazon to the rescue. Same filters, for less money. Also, if you are on the fence about purchasing a GE water filtration system, don't be. I have very hard well water, very iron rich, and even with a softener the taste wasn't ideal. The water coming out of this GE system tastes every bit as good as bottled water.
